Depending on the version you are playing or the skin server status, it could be a glitch. I am not sure what happens if there is only snalshot Mending item and it only needs one durability point to be completely repaired, and only one XP orb is picked up.

We are hoping that mojang eventually sort of the various issues causing this, Path Finding being a big cause, until then we shall remain with 15w47c until such time as a new Snapshot proves stable enough to be run full time.

My minecraft skin looks semi-transparent, how can I fix it back? As always i thankyou all of you who continue to play on the server and we look forward to seeing you around. How do we handle problem users?
The wiki, when I last looked at it, did not specify how multiple Mending items were handled. There are six eligible slots — the four armor slots, the offhand shield slot, and in the hand. Depending on your gamemode, this could be the default. Each XP orb is able to repair two durability points per the wiki.
To fix it, upgrade to 15w47c or downgrade to a stable version. Notify me of new posts by email.
